Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager
TechRivo is a software consulting company based in Portugal but working with several European Companies.
We have Customers in Europe and Australia in projects ranging from Fintech to Education.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager with a strong background in software development and project leadership.
This is a part-time, per-project role, where the number of hours will vary depending on the volume of projects. We are looking to build a long-term collaboration with someone passionate about technology and delivering successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage IT projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to client requirements
- System Design & Architecture: Collaborate with engineering teams to discuss, design, and validate system ideas and architectures, critically evaluating potential solutions
- Team Management: Lead small engineering teams, mentoring developers, resolving challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment
- Code & PR Reviews: Review code pull requests for quality and adherence to best practices (hands-on coding not mandatory but occasionally needed)
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO to align project execution with broader organizational strategies and goals
- DevOps Understanding: Assess and advise on DevOps strategies to ensure seamless deployment pipelines and system stability
- Adaptability: Quickly learn and understand new technologies and frameworks when required, especially to guide teams effectively
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles
- Experience with DevOps concepts (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure as code)
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering teams, ensuring alignment and quality outcomes
Project Management:
- Hands-on experience in managing IT projects of varying sizes
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, Kanban, or Scrum -frameworks
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically, assess technical challenges, and propose effective solutions
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- AI Experience (Bonus): Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and applications is a plus
Work Model & Compensation:
- Type: Part-time, per-project basis (hourly billing)
- Commitment: Variable hours based on project workload, with flexibility to accommodate peak periods
- Location: Remote
